AIPH University celebrates Swachh Bharat Diwas.

As part of Swachh Bharat Mission, everyone has been encouraged to engage in activities related to Awareness Generation, Preparation and Swachhata Shramdaan during 11th September and 1st October. To mark the successful completion of five years of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiated by Prime Minister, Sari Narendra Modi in 2014, and to commemorate Oct 2, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, as the Swachh Bharat Diwas, the students and faculty of AIPH University, the first public health university in Odisha, organized various related activities at Balianta High School in Bhubaneswar. An awareness camp including demonstrations was conducted to draw attention to the importance of environmental health and maintaining personal hygiene, role of sanitation with focus on curbing open defecation and use of clean toilets, and introduction to safe drinking water practices. The AIPH university students also led a cleanliness drive around the school premises and planted trees in honor of senior teachers as they highlighted the need for creating green and clean environment. The high school students enthusiastically participated in all celebratory activities under the leadership of AIPH University students. The AIPH university students plan to stay engaged with the Balianta High school students and help them understand the role that they can play in improving the health of their communities.
