National Safety Week: March 4-10, 2022
Every year India celebrates National Safety Day on March 4 and National Safety Week (Mar 4-10) with the goal of raising safety awareness, including road safety, workplace safety, human health safety, and environmental safety. The National safety Day/Week also aims to reaffirm employees' and the general public's commitment to working and living safely throughout the year. The first National Safety Week was held in 1987 and this yearmarks its51stobservance with the theme "Nurture Young Minds to Develop Safety Culture”. Thestudents, faculty and staff enthusiastically participated in the various theme related activities that were organized at the campus by thePublic Health Students Club of AIPH University.
The programme started off with an enthusiastic welcome address by Prof. Pradeep Kumar Panda (Dean, School of Public Health). This was followed by an opening remark by theVice Chancellor, Padma Shree Dr. A P Dash on the significance of National Safety Week.The 1st year MPH students prepared and exhibited placardsthat highlighted the need to create and strengthen the Safety, Health and Environment culture in the workplace. Thestudents also spoke personally to people in and around the campus on importance of road safety and health safety.A quiz was conducted by the School of Public Health Faculty, Dr. K. Shruti Lekha, PT and Dr.Zunaid Khan in which students got an opportunity to test their knowledge on safety.At the end students who had given correct answers were recognized with small token goodies.
