
AIPH University Champions AMR Awareness: A Week of Activities and Advocacy
The School of Biological Sciences at AIPH University in association with Microbiologists Society, India (MBSI) recently celebrated World Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Week (November 18- 24) with a series of advocacies and educational events. The week was filled with activities designed to raise awareness about the critical issue of antimicrobial resistance and to encourage the community to take action.
National Poster competition (Theme: “Educate. Advocate. Act Now.”)
In celebration of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week, AIPH University is hosting an online national competition to raise awareness about antimicrobial resistance (AMR). This event aims to educate participants on the importance of combating AMR and to encourage proactive measures in the fight against this global health threat.
Quiz Competition on Antimicrobial Resistance
The week kicked off with an exciting quiz competition that tested participants' knowledge on antimicrobial resistance, its causes, and its impact on global health. Students from various departments participated enthusiastically, showcasing their understanding and learning more about this pressing issue.
Go Blue Social Media Campaign
In an effort to spread awareness beyond the university campus, the School of Biological Sciences launched the "Go Blue" social media campaign. Students and faculty members shared informative posts, infographics, and videos on their social media platforms, all themed around the color blue to symbolize the fight against antimicrobial resistance. The campaign reached a wide audience, sparking conversations and encouraging people to join the cause.
Rangoli Competition (Theme: “Educate. Advocate. Act Now.”)
Adding a creative touch to the celebrations, a Rangoli competition was held, where students created beautiful and intricate designs using colored powders. The Rangolis depicted various aspects of antimicrobial resistance, from the importance of proper antibiotic use to the dangers of overuse and misuse. This event not only highlighted the artistic talents of the students but also served as a visual reminder of the AMR issue.
The week-long celebration at AIPH University was a resounding success, bringing together students, faculty, and the community to learn about AMR and combat antimicrobial resistance.
