AIPH University at the “Global Climate Strike 4 Future” Bhubaneswar, Nov 29, 2019

Wrap Text around Image The September 2019 Global climate strikes, also known as the Global Week for Future, were a series of international strikes and protests to demand action be taken to address climate change. The protests took place across 4,500 locations in 150 countries. The event was a part of the school strike for the climate movement, inspired by Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg. This movement is continuing to draw attention to the negative impact of climate change on our communities as well as the environment across the globe and the urgency to manage this crisis. In India, more than 14,000 people signed up for 26 events across the country as part of the global strikes.

The Indian economy has grown enormously in recent years and is now the fifth largest economy in the world, but that has come with a heavy price. Current statistics reveal that nine of the ten most polluted cities on Earth are in India, and it is becoming increasingly evident that many Indian cities could soon run out of drinking water. On the occasion of National Pollution Control Day, AIPH University students enthusiastically participated in the “Global Climate Strike 4 Future”, organized by the Unmukt Foundation. The aim of the event was to create awareness about the negative impact of climate change on mother earth and sensitize the population regarding the consequences of global warming, pollution, and deforestation on mankind. Together, we can make a better world to live in!
